Sophie, tell us a little bit about you…
1. How long have you been writing?
I began writing in 2011 and released my first book, Healing Love in 2012.
2. What genre’s do you write in?
Sweet historical western romance and contemporary romance. My books have a Christian emphasis.
I have been publishing my work independently.
It depends on how long the book is and how much research I need to do to be historically accurate. I’d say about a month for books under 50,000 words.
5. Where can we find your published books?
I’m exclusive to Amazon for print, Kindle, Kindle Unlimited and audio.
6. What can you tell us about your first book in the Silverpines series?
Millie Messer, whose husband dies in the earthquakes, has to run the mercantile they own and take care of her four children. Clayton Ryder Cutler answers her ad and they decide he is to come from Stones Creek, Colorado to marry her. He comes from a family-owned general store so knows the business. Only one thing he “forgot” to tell Millie. He has five children of his own. Needless to say, she’s not happy about the omission.
My newsletter goes out on a semi-regular basis announcing sales, new releases, and sometimes works by other authors. I try to get it out once a month. Sometimes it comes out more frequently, other times less.
Getting to know the characters as I write the stories of their lives.
Pearl’s Will – Lockets & Lace #9 on Feb. 1. My writing schedule isn’t firmed up yet, but I hope to release three books in the Stones Creek – Ladies of Sanctuary House Series. Also, a second book in Lockets & Lace as well as my second book in Silverpines.
Silverpines is my third Multi-author series. I’ve also co-authored a book with George McVey, Redeeming Love in my Cottonwood Series and his Redemption Series.
I was an award-winning professional quilter before the writing bug bit.
